Renewable Energy Offerings

Businesses can do their part to help the environment by promoting the production of electric power from renewable energy resources such as wind, solar, hydroelectric and landfill gas through the purchase of  Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from Exelon Energy. 

Exelon Energy offers competitively priced RECs, both from Exelon Generation’s renewable portfolio and through various power purchase agreements with other renewable generation sources. Customer can choose either Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) including Green-e Certified RECs. We provide numerous alternatives to meet the needs of environmentally conscious customers.

What are Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)?

A single Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) is equal to the environmental attributes associated with one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy generated from a renewable source.

Exelon’s renewable generation portfolio of 1,400 MWs of renewable energy assets continues to grow.  From its landfill gas facility in Pennsylvania to its power purchase agreements at four wind farms in the northeast, Exelon’s renewable portfolio provides numerous alternatives to meet the needs of environmentally aware consumers.

We offer RECs that are verified by the Generation Attribute Tracking System (GATS) at PJM and Exelon Energy is certified by the Center for Resource Solutions to offer Green-e RECs.

Green-e Certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)

Purchasing Green-e Certified RECs is an excellent way to demonstrate your company’s commitment the environment. A single REC is equal to the environmental attributes associated with one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy generated from a renewable source.

We offer RECs that are Green-e certified by the Center for Resource Solutions. The Green-e Energy program provides independent third party verification that the RECs are generated by qualified renewable sources. Green-e Energy, launched by the Center for Resource Solutions in 1997, is a leading voluntary certification and verification program that sets standards for renewable electricity products.
